Four big things for March:
1) Our March 14th Literary Salon features internationally bestselling romance novelist Jennifer Probst, critically acclaimed literary novelist Marcy Dermansky, and poet/prose/essay blending experimental fiction writer John Reed in conversation (and readings!) about Aspects of Love. Come learn what it means to write about love from three very different experts in the field. More info and RSVP.
2) Our monthly Book Club is currently reading THE RED CAR. Want to join the conversations? Read the book and meet us at 6:45pm before the Salon for a special VIP session with its author Marcy Dermansky. Wine included. (we are also working towards online discussions.) Contact us for more info – use the subject line Book Club.
3) We won an amazing grant! LMCC administers the Creative Engagement grant from New York City and New York State – we are thrilled to be recipients, and honored that New York believes the Pen Parentis Literary Salons are worth supporting.
4) Our Writing Fellowship opens March 1. For the first time, we offer a discount for multiple submissions BY MAIL. (we will figure out the tech one day, we promise, but for now the discount is only for mailed-in multiple entries.) Get writing! You have from March 1 through April 17th to apply. Guidelines here.
Please help Pen Parentis by posting the fellowship flyer where you teach, where you write, handing it out to your friends, making airplanes and sending them out your penthouse window… basically, please help us spread the word. Here it is, cute baby and all: 2017 Fellowship flyer
