Author’s Bio

Julie is a lawyer and former adjunct university professor at a private military university turned homeschooling mama, yoga instructor, and writer.  She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Women’s Studies from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada., and her J.D. and Masters Degree from Vermont Law School. She is the author of Staying at Home, Staying in the Law: A Guide to Remaining Active in the Legal Profession While Pursuing Your Dreams (American Bar Association, 2008), and co-author of Virtual Incorporation: A Lawyer’s Guide to the Formation of Virtual Corporations (American Bar Association, 2009). At Vermont Law School she served as the Articles Editor of the Vermont Law Review, as a senior staff editor of Res Communes: Vermont’s Journal of the Environment, and as a legal writing Dean’s Fellow. Julie’s writing has appeared in print and online publications, including Information Security Magazine, The Vermont Law Review, The Vermont Bar Journal, I AM Modern, KIWI, SANS NewsBites, with blog essays appearing in the Miami Herald and Charlotte Observer.  She previously penned a legal/technology/business column in a Vermont business publication. She writes the blogs Wanderschool and Kids Trail Running.  Julie has four children.
