Marina Aris is the author of Running Into The Night, A Memoir. Before embarking on a literary career and choosing to work from home to care for young children, she worked in the financial services industry. In 2016, she founded the Brooklyn Writers Project and the Brooklyn Writers Press. She leads a weekly writing group and co-hosts the annual Indie Author Day with the Brooklyn Public Library. As a publishing consultant she works closely with first-time authors to write, publish, market and distribute their work. Her small press is one of the few in New York City to offer guaranteed bookstore distribution. Marina also devotes some of her time to advocating for youth in foster care who are growing up the way she did. Her work has been featured in the Magic of Memoir anthology.
