For any parent-writers attending the AWP conference, we've taken all the hard work out of checking out the local restaurants, the family-friendly attractions and even the baby-sitting sites - to help...
“…look around at the large beautiful world-wide group of committed artist-moms to which you belong.”
Recently, a discussion started at Pen Parentis Behind Closed Doors about family-friendly artist-residencies and we discovered this INCREDIBLE resource – it is called Artist Residency in Motherhood and we highly recommend that all new moms (and really any mom that is trying to balance motherhood with being a creative writer) visit this website, if not to join (but oh your career with thank you) — then at least to look around at the large beautiful world-wide group of committed artist-moms to which you belong. All of them struggling to find balance – all of them intensely committed to their careers. Lots of writers on there!
Visit the Residency. It’s free and you never leave your baby’s side.
(Incidentally – the artist who started this great idea was funded by the wonderful people at Sustainable Arts Foundation.)
