Our weekly Writer-Parent Accountability Meetups are now entirely virtual! Choose the weekly time that works best for you and contact us to ask for the proper Zoom link. All times...
On Tuesdays starting on September 17, we will be adding a new meetup for parent-writers at any stage of a writing project. No limits! Can be fiction, nonfiction, memoir, stories, genre novels, anything at all! This isn’t a workshop, but a way to make yourself accountable for your own goals – and get things done!
Our first meetup group on Friday mornings at 10am is going strong (several of our members have already published projects they say they’d never have written if it weren’t for the group!) and we wanted to add another time to see if we could accommodate more of you!
We took a poll on Pen Parentis Behind Closed Doors and most writers said they would attend if we could hold a meetup on weekdays at lunchtime. We listened! Our new meetup will be Tuesdays at noon at the cafe inside of the Brooklyn Public Library main branch. One hour, plus an optional hour to quietly write. Buy your own lunch or just meet everyone, no judgments! – we will be waiting for you with a little sign to identify us!
No child care, but if you have to bring your child, we understand. Older children might be happy in the children’s section. Each session has a $10 suggested donation, or you can become a Title Member of Pen Parentis and all meetups (and Salons!) are free.
If you’re interested, drop us a line to let us know your availability and how often you think you’d be able to make it. Regular attendance is the key to making these meetups work their magic on your productivity!
