Amanda Hirsch is on a mission to fill the world with women’s stories. She does this as a writer (duh) and as the proprietress of Mighty Forces, a company that helps women leaders and women’s organizations clarify and amplify online the authentic stories of who they are and what they’re up to in the world. Clients include Melinda French Gates’s Pivotal Ventures and Malala Fund as well as women leaders from across a range of industries. Amanda is writing a book that captures everything she tells her clients about why more women must overcome patriarchy’s chokehold and express themselves fully — for their own sake, for the sake of other women, and for the sake of the world (no pressure). Her essays and opinion pieces have been published in outlets like Catapult, McSweeneys, and Motherly.
As a new mother, Amanda self-published a book called “Feeling My Way: Finding Motherhood Without Losing Myself.” Previously she was the editorial director of PBS.org. Amanda has a background in improv comedy, which she believes is a template for life. She lives in Riverdale, NYC with her husband and their 10-year-old daughter.
