BIO:

Jana-Lee Germaine’s poems have appeared in New Ohio Review, Cimarron Review, Nimrod, Presence 2022, december, Rock & Sling, New South, The Baltimore Review, Bellevue Literary Review, Painted Bride Quarterly, Poet Lore, Southern Poetry Review, The Carolina Quarterly, and elsewhere. Bellevue Literary Review featured her poem “Eating Disorder” in their “Off the Page” reading series in New York City. She is a Senior Poetry Reader for Ploughshares.

Jana-Lee received her B.A. in Literature from Wheaton College (Illinois), and earned her MFA from Emerson College, where she won several Academy of American Poets awards, Department of Writing, Literature and Publishing awards, and the Dean’s Award for her thesis. Her poetry manuscript, Learning Curve, was a finalist in the 2021 Barrow Street Book Prize.

Jana-Lee has always homeschooled her four children, including three sons in high school and a daughter in middle school. Her family recently spent several years in a tiny village in the midlands of England where the local peacock showed up at their door every morning to ask for biscuits, preferably the chocolate covered variety. She now lives in Lunenburg, MA with her husband, children, and 3 cats. Jana-Lee also loves running, hiking, cycling, lifting, and is an avid gardener.
