
Melanie Pappadis Faranello is a Pushcart Prize nominee and the winner of the 2021 Marianne Russo Award for a novel-in-progress from Key West Lit Seminars. Her writing has been published in Blackbird, Huffington Post Personal, StorySouth, Fifth Wednesday Journal, Literary Mama, Requited, Connotation Press, among others. Her work has been shortlisted for Sarabande Books’ Mary McCarthy Prize in Fiction, William Faulkner Wisdom Competition for the Novel, and The Dana Awards for the Novel. She is the recipient of an Individual Artist Fellowship Award in Fiction from CT Office of the Arts. She is the founder of the acclaimed public art project, Poetry on the Streets. She received her MFA in creative writing from The New School and has attended Sewanee and Bread Loaf Writers’ Conferences. Originally from Chicago, she currently lives with her husband and two sons (elementary and high school) in West Hartford, CT. She has completed two novels and a collection of short stories.
